who am i? why am i doing this?

as i get older, i'm realizing more and more that i don't enjoy spending time scrolling through various apps and other social media platforms. nothing feels fun on any big site anymore, and the pointless, almost nonsensical drama that i see everyday over very little things has come to annoy me and ruin my time online.

i used to play otcg, online trading card games, that were these massive passion projects run by mega fans of a type of media. you would collect and trade cards with other players, level up when your collection amassed a certain number, play little flash games to earn more... it was such a joy. i focused on k-pop and anime oriented tcgs. in order to play these games/collect cards, you needed a site to log and store all your cards. it was through these online communities that i first began playing around with html and css.

that was... geez... almost ten years ago, if not ten years exactly. sites were abandoned, domains not renewed, etc, etc. basically, all that was to say that i have totally lost the art of making and running my own site and stuffing it full of random crap i love in favor of just having a twitter or instagram account. but i'm tired of those places!!! hence...the existence of this :^)
